In the age of digital ubiquity, running business means being strategic about gathering, organizing, crunching, and interpreting data, and continuously developing and improving these capabilities. In other words, data are the essence of the new management practices. Hence, developing skills in strategic data-driven management is an imperative for the aspiring and current managers with an eye on the future.

WHO SHOULD ENROLL

  • Current and aspiring managers with an interest in learning about digital transformation and data-driven management
  • Decision makers from all the areas in the firm, who want to learn about data-driven decision making and the pre-requisites for integrating data into the fabric of the firm
  • Everyone interested in the topic of strategic data-driven management, with at least 5-year working experience

NOTE: There are no requirement with respect to the previous knowledge in data science, data mining, or statistics.

Assistant Professor at Nova SBE, with a double Ph.D. degree in Technological Change and Entrepreneurship from Carnegie Mellon University and Católica-Lisbon School of Business and Economics. Co-founded several high-tech firms and online platforms, published in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences, with over 15 years of international consulting and technology management experience.

Fernando Bação

Currently Associate Professor at the NOVA IMS, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where he is Associate Dean, Director of the MagIC Research Center and Director of the Doctoral Program in Information Management. His research interests include data science, data mining and the role of business analytics in leveraging information for innovation and competitive advantage. His research work has appeared in scientific journals such as Information & Management, Information Systems Frontiers, The Internet and Higher Education, Softcomputing, Journal of Educational Technology & Society, Computers in Human Behavior among others.
